Growth in European conference venues and centres
With flying now a daily experience for many people in business and the benefit of discount airlines to major hub airports in Europe (coupled to the real value in the sterling / euro exchange rate) it's no surprise that conference venues in Europe are so attractive. Morris have planned out and managed very large events for up to 1200 delegates and choosing a venue in Europe has usually been much more cost-effective than the UK for the same event.
Below is a brief overview of the major European conference choices bearing in mind the major importance of Hub Airports in the equation.

It is common in Western European cities to find large hotels linked physically to huge convention centres that are multi-use buildings for entertainment, sports as well as exhibitions and more. As this is rare in the UK, it is driving business to these destinations (especially if it is located near a hub airport).
Below is a brief overview of some European countries bearing in mind the major importance of having nearby Hub Airports.
Conference Venues & Centres in France
The edge of Paris offers the large event more chances on price, with many venues near to the main airport. High style hotels in the city centre usually charge the equivalent of London prices.
Conference Venues & Centres in the South of France
Flying into Nice is easy. Lots of 4* hotels in Nice and Cannes offer some great conference opportunities. Morris know everything in this area and can handle the management and planning if you wish through our Super Events Man service or using our French team with the Our Man In service. Again, expect to pay London prices for the venue and take care when ordering drinks at the cash bar. To lower costs it can be useful to keep as much of the wines and other drinks pre-ordered.
Conference Venues & Centres in Germany
Germany loves huge conferences and exhibitions and has many hotels and convention centres to out-perform other European countries, along with excellent hub airports (e.g. Frankfurt, Berlin and Stuttgart) and connections. If it's a room for 3500 with 2000 beds and within 100 metres on the centre Germany is the place for you.
For smaller events, Bavaria and the Black Forest offers cuckoo-clock lodges that always get high satisfaction from our clients and, of course, during winter months we have conference resorts on the snow line, which are ideal for winter sports and activities.

Rome has some large hotels that can host conferences up to 500 delegates, and one very large conference centre that can hold several thousand and the costs often work out less than London.

Swiss efficiency coupled to their famous hospitality! With very slow Swiss inflation and the strong pound it is noe good value. The Lake Geneva region has chateau-style venues and Michelin-starred Chefs to equal anywhere else in the world. Switzerland always provides a memorable and high quality conference venue choice.

Prague is great for conferences, with many travel links, value for money conference venues and lots of exciting Gala dinner venues, all at much lower than UK prices
Conference Venues & Centres in Portugal
Low prices and lots of large venues makes Portugal a winning choice. Lisbon or Porto in the North offer quality choices with very low rates and high standards. Great external venues.

Spain provides wonderful old cities like Madrid, Seville and of course Barcelona (thought by many to be the best City on earth). If you want choices to fit any size of event, lots of flight choices and international standards in every venue, choose Spain or its islands.
