The elegant Georgian Hackness Grange Country House, lies at the heart of the
dramatic North Yorkshire Moors National Park, 533 square miles of glorious
countryside with rolling moorland and majestic forests. Set in acres of private
grounds, overlooking our tranquil lake home to many species of wildlife. Hackness Grange is a haven of peace and quiet for our guests. There are
twenty eight bedrooms, all with private bathroom, color television, direct dial
telephone and welcome refreshments tray, situated in the main house and the
elegant courtyard, ten of which are ground floor rooms. Together with a further
5 ground floor garden rooms situated 150 yard from the main house The elegant Lounge and Cocktail Bar with a welcoming log fire, is an ideal
place to enjoy afternoon tea or an aperitif before dinner. The Derwent Restaurant, overlooking the lake, offers a fine choice of quality
English Cuisine and a wide range of wines. Guests staying at this Eighteenth Century classically English Manor House, a
part of Lord Derwent's estate, can enjoy a nine hole pitch 'n putt golf course,
and an outdoor en tout cas tennis court. There is a large indoor heated swimming
pool with an attractive sun lounge area where you can enjoy quiet relaxation.
Venue location:
How to Find the Hotel Follow the A64 from York to Scarborough, turn left to Seamer onto the B1261.
At the roundabout in Seamer follow the B1261 to East Ayton and then take the
first right to Hackness Village. The Hotel is on the left after about 4 miles. From the North follow the A171 to Burniston on the outskirts of Scarborough.
Take the right hand turn signposted Forge Valley/Hackness and the Hotel is
through the village on the left after about 4 miles
Conference facilities:
For private meetings up to twelve delegates we have a board room, although we
are always happy to discuss larger conferences when organizers wish to book the
Country house for exclusive use. The Hackness Grange is a perfect location for
private dinners, lunches and social occasions. Where better to arrange your
Wedding Reception, either with a marquee for up to 200 guests - a perfect
setting for memorable romantic wedding photographs. Nearby there are choice golf courses in Scarborough, Bridlington and the
Championship Course at Ganton. We can also arrange for alternative game
shooting, clay pigeon shooting, quad bikes, archery and even fly casting tuition
all in the immediate area. There is ample free car parking at Hackness Grange, and is an ideal centre
for exploring all the delights of Yorkshire - Goathland with it's spectacular
waterfalls; Robin Hood's Bay once the haunt of smugglers and one of the many
Yorkshire fishing villages; Whitby - a former whaling port and home of Captain
Cook; and Castle Howard, the unmistakable Baroque setting for "Brideshead
Revisited" - all this and so much more and all within reach of Hackness
