The Royal Hotel is Scarborough's famous and most historic hotel overlooking
the beautiful South Bay. Built at the height of the Regency period, the hotel
has always been the centerpiece of England's earliest resort and still reflects
the spectacle of that age. Regular visitors in times gone by have been Sir
Winston Churchill and Charles Laughton, the Hollywood star and brother of one
time owner Thomas Laughton. The hotel is renowned for its elegant ballrooms and a further 6 function
suites together with 118 en suite bedrooms and a complete and highly flexible
service for up to over 400 delegates / guests. During the summer months the
hotel patio offers a stunning and unusual addition to its range of meeting
facilities with attractive views of the harbor and bay through the Town Hall
gardens. For the discerning traveler or delegate there can be no finer example of the

Venue location:
Finding the Hotel Enter Scarborough by way of the A64 from the A1/M1 and continue in to the
town on the Seamer Road and then on to Falsgrave traveling towards the town
centre and railway station. Turn right at the junction outside the railway
station and then immediately left at the next set of traffic lights. Continue
directly ahead through the next set of lights and a roundabout and The Royal
Hotel is on the left just before the Town Hall.
