The George Hotel, dating back to the 17th Century, is set on the banks of the
River North Tyne and provides a relaxing rural retreat for a leisure break. Situated only 30 minutes from Newcastle in the idyllic Northumberland
countryside with picturesque river views, this hotel is the perfect country
haven. After a stroll around the local countryside, enjoy afternoon tea in one of
the hotel's lounges or in its landscaped gardens then prepare for a leisurely
evening meal in the Riverside Restaurant (awarded 1 RAC Dining Award). For complete relaxation and revitalisation, visit the hotel's leisure club,
which has an indoor heated pool, spa, steam room, sauna, solarium and gymnasium.
The club also offers a wide range of beauty treatments and aromatherapy massage,
for a small additional charge. Many activities are on offer at the hotel,
including salmon and trout fishing from the hotel's own grounds (charges apply).

far from any unwanted diversions. The Kielder Room and River Room can be used
for a range of different functions, including conferences for up to 60
delegates, board meetings, cocktail receptions and private dining. A full range of business services can be provided: fax, photocopying and
secretarial support. Audio visual equipment, including OHP, screen and
flipchart, is provided as standard and the hotel can source extra equipment for
you if required.
