Description:
The Inn dates back to the 16th Century and contains some interesting wall paintings of that period. On the wall in the lounge are the Arms of Queen Elizabeth painted according to tradition to commemorate her visit to Shardeloes, an ancient mansion on the outskirts of town. There is much of the original oak work in the Inn. The bar was formerly a magistrates courtroom.
The Elizabethan Suite (four poster) was featured in the film "Four Weddings and a Funeral".
Directions:
From the M25 junction 18 take A404 follow signs for Old Amersham. Go down Stanley Hill and at the bottom turn right. At Tesco roundabout go straight on. After zebra crossing at mini roundabout turn left and left past Nags Head public house.
