Region:
Kent
City:
Southborough
Description:
Salomons combines innovation and elegance. Innovation, because it has established itself as one of the country's most successful centres for training and development. Elegance, because this creative energy is housed in the historic Victorian buildings and grounds that made up the Salomons family home at Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells in Kent. And it is this elegance which makes it the perfect setting for its present day use as an exclusive conference and banqueting venue.
David Salomons estate is a testament to the enterprising spirit of the Victorian era. It celebrates the vision of two men-Sir David Salomons, MP, the first Jewish Lord mayor, who courageously campaigned for the political rights of Jews and religious minorities and his nephew, Sir David Lionel Salomons, a technician, craftsman and inventor, whose passion for photography, lighting and mechanical devices is evident throughout the house. He was the first in the country to introduce electric power to his home and he also added a private theatre equipped with one of the finest electrically driven Philharmonic organs (now the only one left in the world).
The former country home has been converted into a flexible series of meeting and function rooms, large and small, to meet every need.
The unique and vibrant character of Salomons makes it an ideal venue for conferences and training event of all kinds.
The modern refurbishment of the house itself has provided all the facilities and comfort demanded by today's discerning delegates without losing any of the elegance and style of bygone years.
Set in 36 acres of gardens, woodland, rolling parkland and lakes Salomons is an exclusive, secluded venue Corporate and academic institutions regard the country house and grounds as both relaxing and exhilarating. There are opportunities to inform and motivate delegates in a formal classroom, lecture room or boardroom environment, as well as using outdoor development activities within the Salomons Estate. Indeed, an additional and exciting feature of Salomons is its reputation as a well equipped and innovative outdoor development centre using varied activities to test and develop team building.
Within the mansion the extraordinary Victorian Science Theatre becomes a unique conference venue with seating for 230 and is ideal for exhibitions with its own entrance and immediate access. Other meeting rooms range in size and hold between 6-60. Residential en-suite accommodation gives event organisers the option of inclusive 24-hour delegate packages and our Information Technology suite is ideal for PC training and may be hired with or without an in-house tutor.
